On Tuesday, 20 January 1998 EMB signed an agreement with Elektromec S.p.A. of Italy. With this agreement, EMB and Elektromec have laid the foundation for volume production of the Lectra in Europe. Europe is expected to be a large market for EMB's products due to the popularity of motorcycles and scooters and the desires for environmentally friendly transportation.
